Injection molding machines are increasingly being used to produce complex housings in which inlays, punched grids, contact pins, busbars, etc. are integrated. More and more, these are receiving additional functional components directly after the injection molding process. With SCHILLER AUTOMATION, the path to fully automatically assembled and tested assemblies in high volumes is no longer far.
Our automatic assembly and testing machines have been in use by customers for decades. The high quality of workmanship leads to utilization periods of over 40 years in some cases. Our integration expertise for a wide variety of processes has been continuously expanded in recent years. We use these capabilities to develop and manufacture highly efficient automation systems for injection molding machines.
In order to achieve high efficiency, the machines are loaded with inserts to be overmolded as required. For this purpose, the parts are first separated and inserted into the injection mold in the correct position. After injection molding, the semi-finished parts are removed from the machine and inspected. Manual or fully automatic assembly stations are then integrated, which join and connect further components and protect them by potting, for example. Almost any processes can be integrated for this purpose.
Finally, the assemblies are tested for function and marked for traceability. Transport of the workpieces to the required processes within the plant and seamless tracking are ensured via the plant's PLC in conjunction with a SCHILLER AUTOMATION LineController or a higher-level production control system (MES). The necessary interfaces, such as iTAC or EUROMAP, are of course available for this purpose.
We provide you with a complete solution from a single source, in which we act as general contractor. Based on your specifications, we develop the plant concept, select the optimum components and independently implement the automation with the entire process chain so that you can take care of the essentials.
